New Directions Conference

Description

Registration for the New Directions Conference 2026: Sociology for Good: Contributions to Contemporary Challenges is now open.

Contemporary societies across the globe face complex, escalatory, and interwoven challenges. Classic sociological ‘problems’ in the realms of politics, power relations, identities, and intimacy increasingly overlap with globalised and digitised flows of (mis)information, ideas, and people.

This conference seeks to understand how Sociology as a discipline might help address these issues and will feature presentations on related topics from doctoral researchers and academic staff.

Join us to hear from our academic community on the latest sociological research and thinking. Network with colleagues in the subject area whilst enjoying lunch and refreshments across the two days.
