Background

Oyku Hazal Tural is a PhD candidate at the School of Social and Political Science at the University of Edinburgh where she also works as a teaching and research assistant. Her research lies at the intersection of immigration control and humanitarianism, with a particular focus on relationships based on care and compassion in contexts of displacement and refugee resettlement. Her current PhD research concerns developing a socio‐legally situated understanding of community‐support practices for refugees and asylum seekers resettled in Glasgow, Scotland.
