OnlineDescription
The Resilient Researcher is a workshop designed by Dr. David Steinberg to help PhD students develop a variety of research, social, and problem-solving skills. This workshop will help students develop strategies to cope with the stress and uncertainty associated with conducting higher education research.
The content draws inspiration from proven therapeutic techniques and the lecturer’s own experience as a doctoral candidate and supervisor of undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations.
The format features contemporary, photorealistic and abstract paintings, along with some modern photography, to introduce principles and concepts, and to immerse students in image-rich, compelling group exercises.
Topics include:
- Student Stress Factors
- Power of Self-Efficacy
- Social Cognitive Perspective on Mindfulness
- Six-Step Process to Research Resilience
This session will take place on Teams. A link will be emailed out to attendees closer to the session.
